This is what my research and experience on different forums has come up with on the program called Ambit Energy.

Many of the forum participants have  not provided many reviews and experiences with Ambit Energy here is some valuable information and my review on  Ambit Energy.

Ambit Energy, LP. is a retail electric provider based in Dallas, Texas it is going after the deregulation of electricity something that was done awhile ago with phones is now going to be done with electricity.

J. W. Thompson is Co-Founder and CEO of Ambit Energy he is of the Dallas Thompson family who founded South land Corporation better known as 7-11. He also founded CapRock Fiber Networks to build fiber and broadband networks across Texas so the business background is there.

The other person involved is Mr. Chambless he is Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Ambit Energy. As an early member of the management team at Excel Communications, he was responsible for all aspects of the company's marketing and communications organization  in the deregulation of the phone business.

Deregulation of the Texas wholesale market began in 1995 when independent power generators were permitted to gain access to the statewide power grid (the "Grid") to 20% off your electric bill.

Retail competition began on January 1, 2002, when customers of independent operating utilities in the ERCOT regions of Texas were allowed to choose a retail electric provider.  Now this is only available in certain parts of Texas and in the state of New York so far.

Now back to the opportunity. Yes it is a great idea to get a piece of what people need and that is electricity but it will cost you to become a member of this.

Now the problems I see is most people are not going to want to fool around with something like electricity to save up to 20% would you? and note the word is up to.

Especially not in the middle of winter. So in order for this to work your going to have to sell and most people hate this unless you get them involved in being a distributor who then feels obliged to use the services.

So then you are going to spend more time trying to find distributors then customers and this in the end will not be a long term financial solution.

Not to say that money won't be made but for most it will be to overwhelming.
