Guardian International Travel Review

Here is my review on the company Guardian Internation TRavel also known as GIT. My personal experience and research has come up with the following. If your a past member I would highly recommend you visit. http://www.gitalerts.com

Here is what Guardian International travel was offering. The Beginning

Guardian International Travel, LLC was founded February 11, 2005 by three businessmen; Swainson Hawke, Elliott James, and Bill Humes. There had been several months prior to this in setting up the basics of the company, compensation plan, and product lines.

When GIT was first launched, it offered primarily one product, Condo Cards. There face values ranged from $300 to $3000, and distributors called charter members could purchase these condo cards for the wholesale price of $100 to $1000, or 1/3 of the cards face value. The maximum allowed purchase was presumedly 25 - $3000 face valued cards, for $25,000. However, despite that limitation being publicly professed, it was a regular practice for the executive management through Swainson Hawke and Elliott James to allow much higher purchases.

The real draw was not the Condo Cards, nor the discounts on Condo stays which were over inflated, nor the rebates that few laid claim for since few actually used the cards. The real draw was the promised 500% of the purchase price paid back over 22 months through Complimentary checks. Even though the crafted Disclaimer warned that the Complimentary Checks were NOT guaranteed, on the conference calls Swainson Hawke and Elliott James would give rousing testament and bring on people claiming to the strength and long term stability of the company, and the great checks they were receiving.

Phase II

On January 2, 2006, GIT launched Phase II, which included a newly revamped Condo Card design, a long promised new website with replication for members to do online recruiting, and a new product called the GITZee Card. This new card allowed members to print coupons out from participating local businesses in their zip codes, offering 10-50% off. The cost was $189.95, plus an $18.95 per month members fee. Attached to this was a seven (7) level, uni-level compensation plan, that included a gold pool and platinum pool based on performance.

Shortly after, Iraqi Dinars were offered for sale as well. This was short lived due to an incident with DHL that revealed regulations and laws had changed and disallowed the selling and distribution of Dinars in this manner.

Atlanta Conference

During the first weekend of February 2006, GIT held a Leadership Conference, at which some 50 plus members came from all over the US and Canada to learn more about GIT, the products, and to better promote the product. GIT even brought in a special speaker, Glenn Turner, founder of several multi-level marketing companies in the 60s and 70's, and target of the federal government over what they viewed as illegal pyramid schemes.

At this conference, Mr. Hawke held dozens of one on one meetings with those that attended, to answer various questions they had and assure them of the great opportunity that GIT was and to explain how they could provide 500% of their money back to them. There was great skepticism over that feature. Part of the explanation included Forex trading which Mr. Hawke claimed to be an expert in, as well as various businesses that were being launched in the near future, and of course the purchase of a 10,000 acre rubber tree plantation in Viet nam, which once concluded and in full operation, would net approximately $1000 per acre per year, or $10 million in income. As it has been later learned, there was no rubber tree plantation, even though this lie was constantly purported and passed on for over a year later.

Also - top sales leaders such as Jack Phillips was presented and gave training in the way he sold the opportunity to others. Jack was one of the earliest members to join GIT, and responsible for a large portion of the membership that was recruited in the first year. It was also during this conference that Dr. Zahid Ali was recruited from Canada.

Corporate Headquarters

Two months later, the official corporate headquarters were established, and all operations were centralized in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Several staffers were hired at this time, with Bill Humes running the daily operations. Shortly after the launch of the new headquarters, Swainson Hawke relocated to Elizabethtown, KY from Georgia, and grudually assumed daily and strategic control of GIT operations from Bill, relegating him to essentially an office manager and overrode most his financial decisions.

By end of June 2006, Bill Humes had decided to break with GIT. Much of his break was due to his disagreement with the direction Swainson Hawke was taking GIT and Multiple One Group, directions that were severely jeapordizing the future of GIT if all did not go well. He had voiced this, but was out-voted by Swainson Hawke and Elliott James. Since he could no longer positively influence GIT and did not want to be a part of Hawke's hari-kari style of financial management, he negotiated a seperation from GIT, trading his interest in a number of Multiple One Group projects underway and his 1/3rd ownership of GIT to gain full control of Pinnacle Construction and Concrete, Inc and 434 Convenience Store, Inc.

Even though Bill officially handed over his positional control at the end of June 2006, the negotiations extended through the end of September 2006, during which time Bill helped to train a couple individuals to assume auxilliary roles and responsibilities he did in the company that Hawke chose to not manage directly himself.

Multiple One Group Officially Launches, VIP Day (9/30/06)

September 30, 2006, Hawke held a special VIP day/meeting to share with a select few that chose to fly to Elizabethtown his master plan for Multiple One Group, Inc, and then later that night, hold a special VIP night and launch of his latest project, Hawk's Restaurant. At the meeting, many projects were revealed, all touting the build up of equity and value of Multiple One Group, with the end all goal to approach those attending for their purchasing Multiple One Group stock. During this meeting, Hawke presented a group called Gel Tech, that demonstrated amazing fire supression, agricultural growth supplement, and personal safety products. Hawke claimed that Multiple One Group would have EXCLUSIVE distribution rights for these products after a successful negotiation with the inventors Gel Tech. This was of course news to Gel Tech - since they had not ever discussed anysuch thing nor even wanted any such thing. It was all a smoke screen by Hawke to sell Multiple One Group stock and fatten his pocket.

This author has spoken with the President and CEO of Gel Tech - and it is their statement that after that day, not one of their calls were ever returned, nor did Swainson Hawke attempt to call them. Meanwhile, Swainson Hawke was telling staff and members that negotiations were underway. Months later, Hawke told this author "in confidence" that he scuttled the deal because the company wanted $500,000 in venture funds in trade for exclusive distribution, an outright lie as it was learned a year later.

The DA of Kentucky has gotten involved and now has a warrant for 4 of it's members.
